7 Foods to avoid if you suffer from bloating and gas

Fizzy Drinks

One of the worst gas-inducers is soda. However, carbonated drinks are not the only issue. Drinking sparkling water, beer, or wine causes digestive gas.

Fruits and Fruit Juices

Avoid carbonated drinks with apple or prune juice to reduce gas. These drinks include fructose, a natural sweetener some people can't tolerate, which might cause intestinal gas.

Dairy Products

You may also have to forego milk because dairy is gassy. Bloating after cheese and ice cream can also be caused by such foods.

Beans

Not for nothing are these called the “musical fruit”. Beans can disrupt your intestinal tract, so you may need to avoid them.

Veggies

Some vegetables are more gas-producing than others. Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, Brussels sprouts, and peas are worst.

Whole Grains

Many whole grains produce gas. Not brown rice or bran cereals. Bagels and pretzels include carbs that can upset your gut.

Other Gassy Foods

Other foods in a class alone can produce gas. Spicy or fatty foods, caffeine (including coffee), and artificial sweeteners in sugar-free or “diet” foods, sweets, and gum are culprits.
